Fuli Town originally lay to the east of Donglang Hill and was called "Huangdao Street" in the Tang (618-907 A.D.) and Song (960-1279 A.D.) Dynasties. Then it gradually approached the Li River and was renamed "Fuli Town" in the Republic of China (1912-1949 A.D.). Here you can find not only beautiful scenery but also many happy tales. It is said that Fairy Song, Sister Liu, lived here for many years and she left many beautiful tales after her, In the 7960s, the famous film Sister Liu was based on these tales and mainly filmed here, In recent years, local people have made good use of their cultural heritage and developed the painting-fan industry. Fuli Town has become the famous "hometown of painting-fan." In Fuli Town the main scenic spots are the Scenery of Ancient Town, Three Supernatural Women Stones, Kylin-giving Sons, Immortal's Hands, Secret Donglang,Yinlong Fancy Cave, Tangmen Views, Liugong Three Deep Pools, and Ancient Battle Field in Baimian (Yangshuo History Tablet).
East of Donglang Mountain is the original site of Huangdao Street in Tang and Song Dynasties. Donglang Mountain, Also call human figures mountain, it looks like different figures from different direction. From the northeast, you will find it look like young warrier, and from the sountheast it looks like a pretty little girl, and the right south direction, it looks like an old man. There was a beautiful legend says that twin brother Donglang and Xilang fall in love with twin sister Jade and Xiao who lives in the opposite bank of Li River. |
